Recording & Mixing Packages for Vocalists


Here are the packages I've worked out for singers, rappers, beatboxers and other vocalists who wish to record their vocals to a backing track or a capella. The packages include mixing as well as recording, assuming you will want your vocal to be mixed with your supplied backing music.

If you're not using a backing, your vocal will still need to be mixed, as will spoken word recordings. You'll notice that the packages for spoken word are based on finished length in words or duration in running time, rather than on the number of tracks.

  1. Single (1 to 2 tracks)
    - Setup & sound check = 20mins
    - Recording = 2hrs
    - Mixing = 1hr
    Total = £55
  2. Demo (3 to 4 tracks)
    - Setup & sound check = 20mins
    - Recording = 3hrs
    - Mixing = 2hrs
    Total = £90
  3. EP (5 to 7 tracks)
    - Setup & sound check = 20mins
    - Recording = 4hrs

  4. Mini Album (8 to 10 tracks)

  5. Album (11 to 13 tracks)

  1. Short story (up to 40mins or 7,500 words finished length)
    - Setup & sound check = 20mins
    - Recording = 2hrs
    - Mixing = 1hr

  2. Novelette (up to 1hr20mins or 17,500 words finished length)
    - Setup & sound check = 20mins
    - Recording = 3hrs
    - Mixing = 2hrs
    Total = £90
  3. Novella (up to 2hrs40mins or 40,000 words finished length)
    - Setup & sound check = 20mins
    - Recording = 5hrs
    - Mixing = 4hrs
    Total = £160
  4. Novel (up to 5hrs or 80,000 words finished length)
    - Setup & sound check = 20mins
    - Recording = 8hrs
    - Mixing = 7hrs
    Total = £265
